Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune is one of the renowned educational organizations in Maharashtra as well as India founded by late Dr. Patangraoji Kadam (Saheb) on 10th May 1964. The organization has it’s headquarter at Pune and educational campuses in Pune, Mumbai, New Delhi, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur, Satara (Pachagani) and at quite a few other place. Bharati Vidyapeeth runs educational institutions imparting education right from pre- primary to doctoral level. It conducts programmes in traditional disciplines like Arts, Commerce, Science, Physical education but also in the professional disciplines in Medicine, Engineering, Management, Law, Pharmacy including modern and innovative programmes like Biotechnology, Fine art, Photography, Environmental Science, etc.
Keeping in view the agricultural development in terms of human resource development providing higher agricultural educational facility as well as enhancing agricultural production through transfer of recent agricultural technologies at the door steps of the farmers, Bharati Vidyapeeth has established Loknete Mohanrao Kadam College of Agriculture in Sept. 2003 affiliated with Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri. It offers B.Sc. (Agri.) degree programme. The College has done good progress within a short period in terms of academic excellence, farm development, infrastructure development and overall activities of the students. The eleven batches of students have passed out from this college with 100% result. Most of the pass out students were admitted to post graduation programme i.e. M.Sc. (Agri.) and management courses like MBA, etc. Some of them have been successful at competitive examinations like MPSC, Banking, etc.
Taking into consideration thevast scope of Horticulture, Bharati Vidyapeeth started another college i.e. College of Horticulture in the academic year 2011-12 which is also affiliated to Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, and offers B.Sc.(Hort.) degree programme and having one batch of 40 students Nine batches were passed out form this College.
Besides these regular educational programmes, College is conducting different extension activities like farmers ralley, demonstrations, study tours, exhibition, field visits, group discussions, etc. The National Service Scheme programme is also implemented in the College.
